Hatch, Utah Area

Can someone give me a little information on the hunting opportunities around Hatch, Utah.  What species are available, is public land access available, is it draw only for nonresidents, how limited the draw is, etc.  Any info on special youth hunts available to nonresidents, would be appreciated as well.

Great town. Lots hunting and fishing around hatch. Hatch resides in two hunting units 28 and 27 with several other good hunting units close by. Archery deer is all limited entry now as of this year, the draw closed already for this year. Unit 27 is a premium limited entry unit for deer(the famed paunsaugunt). It also has elk, bear, and antelope as limited entry draws on the unit. Turkeys are draw for the early season and the late season is state wide OTC tag.
Unit 28 is a limited entry draw for archery deer, elk and antelope, bear too. Turkey is the same.
Now all limited entry elk units(28 and 27) can be hunted with OTC tags as "spike units" which means for bowhunters you may harvest a spike bull or a cow elk. Unit 29 is a short drive and is one of the few units that is anybull in the state. Elk numbers are low on the unit but you can harvest any elk.
I have hunted the area for years so I'll PM you my number if you want to talk in more detail or just PM me anytime....Jim
