Simmon Broadheads??

For all you Simmons shooters,Which would you use?
The Interseptor or Tree Shark? My set-up is 51#@26" MOAB longbow and carbon arrows. I hunt whitetail only and gonna be hunting from the ground.10yds. or less shots.Thanks for all the input. Have a great day.

If you have any concerns about penetration, go with the Interceptor.  If you feel like you are well tuned and have perfect arrow flight, then I don't think you would have any problems with the Tree Sharks.  I think perfect tuning is most important on close shots as the fletching doesn't have very long to stabilize the arrow.

I will be useing Tree Sharks on my caribou hunt. They look like they will really open a critter up.

At that weight and on the ground I would go with the big ones.    A treeshark halfway is still better than most others heads stuck in the dirt on the far side.  :D

I agree with James. Last year was my first year to try the treesharks, so I don't have a lot of experience with them but all I know is that I shot a 6 pt and he didn't even make it out of eyesight and was down. It was very impressive !!!

At that distance I think it matters! You should be able to hit a quarter at that distance. Both will do the job. I personally like the way the carbons tuned up with the Interceptors for me. Plus I love the looks of them....I know shouldn't matter...but we guys are visual beings!

I ordered both in 190grs (((190 + 50gr insert + 2-5gr washers = 250grain point))) (for my 45 & 51# BW recurves but after speaking with the guy who answered the phone at Simmons he said if the bow is tuned then I can shoot the treesharks with no problems,, he did say there may be a pentration issue if I hit bone but there is a guy from tradgang he knows of that shoots a 46# bow and gets complete pass throughs on whitetails with the tree sharks--> he also said the $6.00 wheely sharpener is the favorite and he makes the broadheads so I'd get that too!

I am hunting with a 40lb recurve for deer this year but still will use the treesharks.My bamboo osage bow is about 45lbs and it will use intercepters for hogs and treesharks for deer as well.You don't need a lot of draw weight to use the Simmons.There size just throws people off and makes them think they do.

I would go with the Tree sharks. If they are sharp like they should be, they should have no problem going through a deer at the poundage for the distance you plan on shooting with & good shot placement it will open the animal up and should leave an awesome blood trail. But the main thing is a sharp head. Good Luck!!<><

yeah mine came today also 6 treesharks and 6 interceptors.  are you guys having any problems with simmons spinning true on the arrow?  if your getting a slight wobble do you think that would effect the flight from a 50# bow?

I shoot a 50# Acadian Woods Treestick, and a 190 grain glue on Interceptor.  To be honest, many of my Interceptors wobble just a little on the shaft and there are just some that you can't get absolutely perfect, but that being said-they don't appear to affect arrow flight or penetration at all.  I've had good success with both whitetail and hogs.  A sharp Interceptor is a fierce weapon if put in the right place!  I may try the Landsharks this year also.  Can't go wrong with Simmons!
