New bow tuning suprise!
« on: April 06, 2012, 06:19:00 PM »
Well I just got through tuning my new Legacy series Tomahawk 55# @ 28". I draw 27.5" and started with a 30.25" 340 Trad only with a 100 grain brass insert and 200 grain points as this was a little stiff for my one piece Tomahawk. To my suprise and delight right off the bat the bareshafts grouped right with the field tips. I thought it must be a fluke. So yesterday I shot the same arrows and bareshafts and yep they grouped together again. So today for the final test I got a broadhead arrow and a field tip arrow and wet the fletching on the broadhead arrow. I shot these two arrows from 15 yards and couldn't believe the results. Almost every time they grouped within an inch of each other. I figured that was plenty good enough and proceeded to watch the best arrow flight I have seen yet.

Plenty good enough Indeed.  Gotta love when everything comes together without even trying.

Nice!  Enjoy shooting the nes set up.
The season gave him perfect mornings, hunter's moons and fields of freedom found only by walking them with a predator's stride.

Sounds good James.

I am doing the same thing right now also.  I cut down some GT3555 Traditionals to shoot with my fletched arrows.  On to the broadheads next.
