One Piece ACS Recurve? Any interest?
« on: April 07, 2012, 08:49:00 AM »
Jason keeps bringing this subject up at R&D meetings and I keep saying someday.  What I don't know is how much interest there would be in such a bow.

We are talking 60" (?) and offered in low, medium and high wrist.

What do you think?

Well can you give us a possible concept drawing as to the looks of what the riser might be? In one piece recurves the looks of the riser is a big selling point for me whehter it is big and clunky looking or slim and trim.

How about a 62"+? I'd be interested in giving that one a go.

not at a concept drawing point.  Basically seeing if the idea needs to progress to that point or go on the back burner.

I am loving one piece recurves right now and 2 piece.  Always wanted you guys to make some with your original static limbs.

Mike

Im a one piece guy.  If Im gonna buy a new bow in the next 12 months it's gonna be a one piece.

Im not sure there are many out there that feel the same, butthere has to be a few.

I am also pretty fascinated by the ACS limb, esp in a recurve.

Having said all that...

Yes, I would presume there is a market out there.   But I think (and this is my opinion only) the majority of folks who would most appreciate the performance diffence the ACS limbs offer are also ILF shooters.  TD shooters next, so they can still play with different combos, and lastly us OP guys, who make a commitment to a bow that it is what it is.

Just my thoughts.

Honestly, I much prefer a 1 piece to a takedown.

I would love to see a one piece ACS RC. It would need to be at least 62" for me to be interested though.

I don't have enough experience to be considered, I'm sure, but I like a one piece bow. Totally "unscientific" in approach. Problem is I think you need to make the offering in various lengths. 56" - 62" maybe a good start. Maybe that's a design concern though. I don't think offering one length will get the response you're looking for. Too many shorter vs. longer archers. I'd be interested in a 56"-58" with a slim grip.

Length is a problem with one piece recurve bows as you end up with all the R&D with each length of bow and the expense of building a different mold for each length.

I'm not sure we will proceed into the R&D faze with this project this year as interest has been luke warm at best.

We offer the ACS recurve (RC) from 54 to 64 inches now in the three piece.
