Laminated Birch?

I want to get some heavy wood arrows. They'll be for a HH longbow,I'm drawing about 74-75# @ 26"

I used some ash and hickory years ago. The ash were ok,the hickory were a nightmare to keep straight.Anybody have any experiance with laminated birch? I did a search,but didn't come up with to uch info.
How are they for staying straight? straightening? and how durable are they?
Where do you recommend to get them? Thanks.

I used Lam Birch for years out of my Hill.
Before finishing, straighten using mild heat and a glass bottle (burnishing). The shafts shouldn't be so hot that you can't handle them (too hot and the glue will stress).
Do this twice over a week, bundling tightly together once finished.

Once straight, cut/finish/seal immediately, and fletch at your leisure.
They should stay straight if you store them properly, and if sealed well will not warp under field conditions (i've used them chasing moose in rain for ten straight days with no problem).

Spend the money and deal with a Mom and Pop shaft supplier. You will be happier than dealing with a larger outfit where you may have to junk 25% of what you buy.

Quality does vary supplier to supplier. Look in the sponsor's classifieds.

I've shoot them for years and have never had any trouble with them- got them from allengheny Mt arrows.

Allegheny Mt makes the shafts, dont know of anyone else who produces them. A few places sell them. They are heavy thats for sure.

Thanks.I was just checking out the sponsor sites. I think I'm going to call Elite arrows and get the 4 different spined arrow pack he offers. I like my arrows right about 27"bop,so we'll see what spine works.

My 65-70 were around 800g with a 160 pt.
