feather shape and size
« on: July 30, 2007, 07:47:00 PM »
I wanted to hear what you all say is the best shape and size feathers for my arrows. I shoot gold tip 55/75 graphite arrows. My bow is a 64" 53# @ 28" Bob Lee Stick Pro longbow.

Stay with 5" Parabolics with a full helical. You can also shoot 5" shield. My personal preference would be Parabolics.

I like 4 - 5 inch high back shields.  Left wing full helical.   May be a little slower but they sure look pretty going to the target.

I'm playing with huge bannanas right now and big trads too,,I like all the feather choices and have had them all on my arrows, I always end up back with a 5 to 5.5" with a high back

I like 5" High back Shield cuts, I just like the way that they look  :D

I have been toying with trying banana cuts too, I really like the looks of those as well.

i like the larger feathers...5 or 5.5... control a broadhead nicely and will correct some release issues in the moment of truth...

5 3/4" high back bananas on a 32" arrow (drawn 31") is doing wonderful things to my learning process.  Stable flight, and I don't feel that I am giving up that much speed with the cast due to my draw.  It has given me a world of confidence.
