hog hunting
« on: May 09, 2012, 07:51:00 PM »
Me and a buddy are looking to do some hog hunting in texas but wouldn't rule out oklahoma as well. We would prefer to keep it a closer drive from colorado, but we're mostly concerned with quality. So, from all you guys who are experienced hog hunters, what guiding service or outfitters are the best? who will give the best experience and the best chance of success on hogs? After reading some negative reviews on places where hunters said it was overcrowded or overhunted, I just want to be sure before I spend that kind of money hog hunting.
Now then, get your weapons, your quiver and your bow and go out into the open country to hunt some wild game for me.- Genesis 27:3

would he be able to accomodate my buddy who's not a bowhunter as well as myself? I probably should've mentioned that earlier.

also i'd really prefer northern or eastern texas although i realize around sabinal texas is the largest hog population in texas. its just that sabinal is a bit of a drive with gas prices these days especially when carrying meat in coolers and all that.

his place looks perfect only it doesn't look like he accomodates rifle hunters which unfortunately my buddies are. Also while searching for shilo ranch, I ran across pennington creek hunt club. they run a summer hog special that looks pretty good. JW if anyones got any feedback there?
