Although I have had a short Trad career so far (only two years now), I can tell you I was probably one of the biggest proponents in believing it was best to shoot the shortest bow you could ..... that was until I shot a Dan Toelkee Super D at 64" (my draw is only 25 1/2" for LB and 26 1/2" for recurve). BY BY 56" recurves! My consistency have improved dramatically.
Having said that, I do believe that you can get more performance with a short bow as long as it is not too short, but your form needs to be good and that's sometimes hard in a treestand.
