When will you be touring the great PNW?
I believe there will be a shoot in Packwood Wa. in August.
I know there are others but not sure of particulars.

We are here right now. In a state park in Wanatche. Will be back in Alaska by June first. Just wondering if there was anything going on. Nice country but too hot. 94 yesterday. Guess I'm just used to the north country. Lol

Don't worry that 94* can be gone the next day and it can be 70*

Hey Bill,
We live right here in Cashmere, and have stayed in the park you're in. Nice place. Be sure to bike or walk the river loop while you're there. It's very nice. Our little club, the Wenatchi River Traditional Archers are having a small invitational 3D shoot a few miles outside of Cashmere on Memorial Day weekend. You're invited!
But, whether you can make that or not, feel free to visit us in Cashmere. I have a pretty good size collection of classic recurves and old longbows, and a lot of other memorabilia. Also, while here, please consider visiting the Cashmere Museum and Pioneer Village. It's a great little place with lots of native american archeology and artifacts, AND it has the first display case of traditional archery items from the Traditional Bowhunters of Washington Archives!
Shoot me an email at

or call 509-670-1770.

If heading toward Hood River, OR, be sure to check out Raptor Archery. Ted has a cool shop, with lots of stuff you can drool over and bows to take out back and shoot.
When I was a kid growing up in Moses Lake, we used to bowfish for carp. That's a good thing to do on a hot day. I don't think they've invaded the Wenatchee River yet, but you'll find them in the reservoirs along the Columbia and Snake Rivers. Great fun, but don't bother trying to eat them.

Well, Gringo, if you're back in the Moses Lake area any April, that's when the Traditional Bowhunters of Washington holds a fine 3-D shoot there. Even if you don't have equipment with you, come on out...we'll set you up with something to use. Unofficially, we call it the Rock Shoot though, so be prepared to scatter some arrow parts around the countryside!

Look at 3dshoots.com, they seem to be most reliable source for my area. But it's not strictly trad shoots.

Various bows, but if you see me shooting, it's probably a Toelke in my hand!

well thanks for the responses guys. I've been out of service for a few days. Am in tilamook Oregon as we speak. Tom (oldbowhunter). Thanks for the gracious offer and if you are ever in Alaska the offer is returned. I'll call you later. There seems to be a memorial weekend shoot in walla walla. If time and location work it might be doable. Again thanks to all
