I got the elk rash...
« on: May 16, 2012, 12:48:00 PM »
At first I thought I'd gotten into some poison oak, I was "breaking out" all over. I was headed to the doctors for some ointment, but detoured to scout elk instead. Presto! The rash went away!

An old guy (well, "older" at least!) told me that to keep the rash at bay you must keep elk hunt prep activity high. Scout, stump shoot, search for and buy new gear.

Good luck men. (and women!)

:saywhat:  I'm thinking your into something else.....you want to stay home from work to spend time in the woods. It's a reason I never thought of when I was working....

Could you explain the severity of this type of disorder to my wife?  I'm sure it comes in all sorts of varieties!
That's why they call it hunting....

I'll second this witness, theres no doubt its real.  For me its appears to be terminal, not going away.

My advice for you is to enjoy it while you can, its the only relief!

The doctor has put me on a strict regimen of scouting and tweeking tackle.  He also cautioned against tatoos or practicing with a mouth diaphram anyplace others afficted with this ailment might be frequenting.
Apparently it causes an instant and
uncontrollable  urge for them to crouch down and/or build a ground blind using any found material (like garbage cans, the wifes shoulder wrap, some kids bicycle, a picinic table on end)

Seems somebody got a blackened eye when he grabbed his wifes wrap, but he didn't have a wife!

Perhaps you can write more of the Monarchs daily adventures?  Maybe that would help keep rashes at bay?

Good luck with it.
