Jack, I was hoping you'd join in. You have an awesome collection!

I have to get one of those bad boys some day, maybe I'll get lucky at a yard sale back in MI this summer...

Damon,

The 55 and 56 Kodiaks seem fairly common so that isn't out of the question. I think the single shelf 57 and on are more desirable to most people.

Jack, so those 55 and 56 bows are dual shelves? If so, maybe I can get my brother back out in the woods with me when I find one, he's a south-paw...Then if he's not into it, I can still shoot it.   :bigsmyl:

Damon, I like your thinking. Yes, the 54-56 Kodiaks were dual shelf. The 54 is often referred to as "Compass Bow" as it had a compass in the handle.

Some great pics of 50's style (and original 50's) recurves in this thread.  I've got a Kohannah Kurve coming from tarponnut, should be here in a few days.  Gotta talk to Steve Turay in Grayling this coming weekend about his Ottowa!

I just purchased this from Tim Finley (Kota Bows) at a shoot yesterday. I went to get another Prairie Fire from him, I sold one a few years ago and missed it - shot this and had to have it. It is the most silent recurve I have ever shot and fast.

I made it there as early as possible and went to his booth first, shot everything I wanted on the table, took a five minute break and came back to grab. Great table of bows, as usual, could have walked away with a few but this one has me writing up another order. He has a new take down called the Voyager, super sweet!
South forty shoot in two weeks, I'll try to make the dry day if possible, catch you next time Gator.

Hey Trap, What is that bow fourth up from the bottom? My dad used to shoot one like that in the 60's. It got burned up in a fire.Gary
