VPA's and Woodsman Elite???
« on: May 25, 2012, 07:33:00 AM »
I shoot 125 grain bh's and like a high length to width ratio. I understand that the 125 VPA is 1 1/4" long with a 1 1/8" diameter.

I can't find the specs on the Woodsman Elite, can someone help me out.
Thanks

Boy, that stinks. I guess I won't be using them anymore. After you sharpen, they end up 7/8"-15/16" in diameter, illegal in Wyo. I had some of the first ones that were like that before they went to 1 1/8. Game Warden warned me not to use them narrow ones or I would get a ticket.

Law doesn't make sense. A 3 blade with a 15/16" cut is illegal, but a 2 blade with a 1" cut is legal. That narrower 3 blade is gonna do more damage.

I better see if they have any of the 1 1/8" left in stock.

I just got off the phone with 3Rivers. They are not changing the width of the glue-on 125's. They are and will be 1 1/8". Good deal!!

Alright guys. The Wooodsman ELITE 125 grain GLUE-ON is a 1-1/8" cutting diameter.

The Tech that answered that question confused it with the 125gr SCREW-IN model.

I will be updating the web description and the answer to that question on our site soon.

Cool!

I see you already updated the site description.
Sorry to blow a horn here.

Wasn't trying to start a bad rumor...just repeating what the site and the staff told me..lol

I'm going to delete my previous 1" talk from these posts.

Not sure where this went to glue on??  He must have been asking about screw on.  VPA doesn't offer a glue on 125.  Screw on models: 125 VPAs are 1 1/8"  WEs are 1".

I was asking about screw ins, sorry, I should have been more clear.

I really wish both VPA and Woodsman wood publish the dimensions, length and width, with their advertisements.

You probably know this as you had some dimensions, but just in case, take a look at the bottom of this page...
