Have not seen pictures of this being done. Would like to know if it is practiced.
Thanks.

I use it around all my machete handles.

I used it on a flatbow a while back but personally I didn't like it. Now I use what they call "over grip" for tennis rackets and such. It's super grippy, cheap, water proof, and self adhesive. Works great.

Paracord is a little too thick for me, (even with the filling out), but I've had real good luck wrapping the grips of my longbows with "sport-weight" linen yarn and then painting it with polyurathane. It stays rough, helps provide a strong, repeatable grip, and I have come to prefer it to a leather wrap. (It also looks extremely "old school" to me."

I agree that paracord is a little thick, but I really like linen cord, or a nice leather lace wrap.

Am I the only one using over grip? I thought it was more common...

If you want to thin down para cord.
Cut it with a knife and pull out the mantle.
You will probably need to tie it to something then
message the sheath away.
Then seal it with a lighter.

Wrapped my niece's "Katniss" bow I refinished for her birthday in paracord. It helped beef up the handle a little. This little flat bow only pulls about 12#. Made her the quiver and arrows too. I think the paracord makes it look a little more futuristic, if you will.

I use the thin tennis raquet wraps on all bows w/o checkering. Like the good grip and cost is very little. Thanks, Roy

I've used artifical sinew, to wrap amy handle. Works good, cheap, and holds up well. Ther only draw back is that it will fray a bit, but that doesn't bother me.

I wrapped a selfbow handle with paracord untill I could get ahold of something a little more aesthetically pleasing. It worked fine. On the right type of bow, i.e. - the one I am backing with BDU material, it would look fine.

The thickness of the paracord actually made my grip a better size for my hand fit. I will shoot with it on for awhile and see how it feels, but my initial shooting felt great.

I wrapped mine like a huge string nock tie. No glue. Just tension keeping it in place.

I don't think I'd care much for the feel of a paracord grip in my heavier poundage bows. I know it would make an effective grip; I just think it might 'dig in' to the palm at full draw.
Believe it or not, Dick Robertson once used chenille yarn to cover the grip on one of his bow styles. I think the bow was called 'Ancestor' and was a bamboo-backed osage longbow. The chenille yarn looked a little foo-foo at first, but later I thought it had a pretty cool attitude to it. The chenille was undeniably soft, warm and tactile to grip...a very effective bow handle wrap which could be redone whenever needed.

I have the handle of my predator wrapped with para-cord. I like a fatter grip and with my thumb and forfinger on the top edge it works as a locater for consistant grip....I use leather lace on bows over 60# as the para-cord is a bit slick and I dont get as much control as I like with heavier bows................
