Always at least 1 backup.  And always a string in my pack.

To date I've only taken a back-up one time. However, I'll be taking a back-up curve with me in early August.

(And 23 back-up arrows!)

If I am scheduled to be gone more than one day, then yes. Messing up one of my bows would break my heart, but why have a broken bow AND a ruined trip?

YES!!!

I was in the only elk camp I've ever been in and had a bow delaminate while leaning against a tent.  I had a spare and always take a spare.

I wouldn't go on a hunt without a spare just like I wouldn't drive a car without a spare.

When I am hunting on my own place (10 minute drive from home) I don't take one. But when I go "off" to shoot I always do. I have 2 HH Wesley Specials with the same specs, and these are my go to hunting bows as well as my most commonly used bows for 3D shoots. Fortunately, I have never had a bow break down but certainly don't want to take a chance.

Heck, with my luck I take a back up bow out to the backyard when I practice!!! Heh!

I always carry an extra bow on a bowhunting trip. Have never needed it but refuse to be caught without. That why I'm partial to TD bows.
