Looking through the 3rivers catalogue, what is the difference between a crowned and radiused shelf? The little pics are hard to pick out the details. Lol

As far as i know, Nothing, Actually if you hold the bow upright the shelf is crowned, if you lay it on its side now the shelf is radiused.

Also i could be completely off base and wrong. Man i just woke up its to early to think about such things   :knothead:

Is crowned from belly to back and radiused is from outside edge of the shelf to inside?  :dunno:

Idk. Lol. The 3rivers catalogue now states if the riser is crowned or radius. But I don't see a difference

Owlbait has it correct.  The shelf is crowned, the side plate/window is radiused. The shelf can be radiused as well so the lines of the shelf more closely match the curve of the grip and side plate. The purpose of crowning and radiusing is to reduce arrow contact with the arrow shelf and side of the bow.

shelf is crowned and radiused and the window is radiused when the bow is built right for best fletch clearance with minimum contact.

God bless, Steve
