Upstate South Carolina Hunters... Advice

This will be my first year not hunting on private land. I don't have any experience with WMA's. So for the SC members here, do you have any advice on where and which WMA? I am located around the Greenville area.

Sandy Island is one of my all time favorites. 9000 acres bow only deer, hogs, coyotes only Oct & Nov only access by boat only AWESOME!

Savannah River National Wildlife Refuge is very excellent the month of October for deer & hogs and holds up through about mid November even though guns are allowed Nov 1st. There is a 2 week turkey season in April which is also excellent.

Both of these are better managed and better quality hunting than most private land in SC.

Back when I lived in N. Augusta, S.C. I hunted what was called back then Piedmont. Killed quiet a few deer and turkey in Edgefield county section.
