Bearpaw or BPE Pro Fletching Jig?
« on: June 04, 2012, 03:55:00 PM »
I know this "fletching jig" question has come up before, and I've read the comments +/- for just about all of them. I've narrowed it down to these two jigs. Now for the life of me I can't decide on which one to purchase. So, I'm gonna let you guys pick my fletching jig for me. If you have any experiences with either one, please, feel free to elaborate. God Bless, Steve

I have no experience with the Bear Paw but I love my BPE. I have used it on everything from really skinny Axis shafts to 2419's. It is adjustable for any fletching combination. I wouldn't hesitate using it.

Everyone in my family shoots and thinks they have to have a different fletching configuration. With little effort I can fletch 3 fletch, 4-60/120, 4-90/90 and 4-75/105 or up to 6 fletch flu flu's.

BPE

I have a Bearpaw, fletched over three dozen arrows with it. No problems and very easy to use.

I have a 6 unit Bearpaw and I fletched hundreds of arrows with it. It is a great tool and fletching is a breeze! By means of a simple slide switch you can change from 3, 4, or 6 fletch.
I really can recommend this jig!
It don't mean a thing if it ain't got that string! [/i]

I have two BPE Pro fletchers with straight, left helical and right helical clamps for both.  I like the ease of adjustment for nock alignment and number of fletches.  Clamps clean up easy if you get glue on them.  I took a little time to straighten and clean up the clamps edges with a long block and sandpaper - not off much but I am a stickler.  Overall, I am very pleased with them.  I think you would be well served using one.

I have never worked with a Bearpaw.

No experience with the bear paw. Did own the bpe. Very nice jig and has alot of adjustment. I prefer the bitzenberger. Of the two you mention it would be the bpe.

I've had them both and like the Bearpaw best. Nothing wrong with the BPE, but I like the heavy duty magnet on the Bearpaw, easy adjustments and the clamp is real easy to get lined up just right. Seems like the big size gives more space to see whats going on.

Been using the same BPE for over 25yrs. When something works well, I don't try anything else!
