I wear plaid unless it is really raining or looks like it will, then I wear a camo rain suit, I wouldn't want to melt!
That's why they call it hunting....

Ah, dear, dear Killie.  I sharper wit is not to be found on this site!  I haven't forgotten that I promised you a pair of the military surplus wool pants we're both so fond of, if I can ever find the darn things again. I remember the size, but if it has evolved you can PM me. We don't need to be reminded of such things on the PowWow.

P.S. I sure do miss ATAR!

Sharp wit, maybe, but danged if I remember about those pants of yours. With this broken ankle, I think I have gained 2 inches.
Hope to hike it off this fall!

I miss ATAR too!

Flannel, wool & some camo
For God was in Christ, reconciling the world to himself, no longer counting people’s sins against them. And he gave us this wonderful message of reconciliation.

Though hard to find in a lot of surplus stores, Swedish or Norwegian military "forest" camo is a very unusual pattern, but, effective from the north tundra to the southern hardwoods...very reasonably priced.

Killie,
You were making a "fashion statement" in one of the many wonderful huning pics you've shared. I recognized the pants and commended your good taste in hunting attire.  I don't remember whether they're East German, Swedish, or whatever, but they're olive drab, good wool w/ generous cargo pockets. You used to could get them for a reasonable price at any gun show around.  This was quite a few years ago and obviously I haven't found any more.  Like anything else of worth, I guess they were doomed to extinction. I still faithfully stop at military surplus stores though and if I come across some I'll pick ya up a pair or two.
