Recurve T/D Shooting Star by Bisharat (Stalker )
« on: June 12, 2012, 10:08:00 AM »
Hello
I bought from a guy one Stalker bow 60" 45# at 28" ... The guy told me that is one Stealth crafted by Charlie Bisharat and I'm very happy to found one bow crafted by Charlie and in particular the Stealth model....

I asked if it accept Fast Flight and the guy replay me that the FF string will be available to ship but he use only dacron because he prefer this strings.

Today the bow arrive and I discovered that it's a Shooting Star (handcrafted for Jong Lee By Charlie Bisharat) not a Stealth....

Anyone could tell me the difference between the two bows and if I can use Fast Flight strings..??

I'm happy to have it but don't want a Only Dacron Bow... and if it not accept FF I will my money back...
Thanks a lot

Ciao Carlo,

I can find no information on the Shooting Star. You might contact the current owner of Stalker Recurves as he knows Charlie very well. I do not think that Charlie's bows were built for FF.

Carlo,

You are welcome,

Not a thing wrong with B50, my B50 only Schafer Silvertip is every bit as fast as my FF bows.

Danny,
I went to our shooting field, strung it with a dacron string shipped with.... and shoots some ACC 3-18 100gn point 4" fletchers.
For me it's a quiet bow, firm in hand, no stack (my draw is 29,5"), little fast, I take some chrono speed and it shoots at 205 fps my acc's
like my PSA2 and or my Wallace in same pounds....
Thanks a lot
Carlo

PS... I'm waiting for South replay.

Carlo, He misrepresented what he sold you. Intentionally or unintentionally, he should refund or replace the bow. Did he also have a Stalker listed and mix up the bows? I hope you find a fair solution.

Doesn't make sense he would go to the trouble of looking up the website when the info is clearly marked on the riser. Ask for your money back.

Agreed, if he misrepresented he should refund your money if you are not happy with the bow. If he advertised it as a Stealth and it is a Shooting Star he obviously does not know much about the bow, I mean, it is clearly marked on the bow, right? Besides, the only website is South's I do not think Charlie ever had a website as there was no internet back then. While the bow may look like South's Stalkers, it was clearly made by Charlie before South bought the business.

On another note, If it was me I would not send his bow back to him until he refunded the money. Not that he is dishonest, but it just seems a bit fishy if you know what I mean.

Hello friends,
thank you for your interviews, the bow is very very similar to the Stealth .... I think it's a little bit of misrepresented and a little bit of frenzy to sell the bow....
I like this bow and bought it because I see it in some pics.... no problem if it's a Stealth or Shooting Star.... the only difference for me is ... use or not FF strings.... ??? The seller replay me yes... but I'm not sure.... I'm still waiting South replay to solve my problem...
Thanks again to all.
Carlo

Does look like a Stealth. I am sure South will be able to answer your question, I would be curious as to his answer as I have not heard of the Shooting Star model. I guess he could have renamed it when he bought the company or something.

Hey Carlo,

South's been out of town for the last week.  I talked to South and he said that those bows were not built FF compatible.

He also mentioned that people do shoot those bows with FF strings with no issues but it's done so at the discretion of the bow owner.

Thanks,
Ryan

I would bet that if you used a ff type string with the loops padded with B50 that you would have no issues. get a 10 strand string from SBD strings, a sponser here, they pad the loops. The tips look well built.

thank you for your help....I apreciate it a lot.
Rob, the seller, told me that he shoot sometime with FF string but he prefers to shoot with dacron... now I understand why........
Thanks a lot again....

Hello... this is the "End of the Saga"
I found another "pearl" to add to the Stalker  saga.......
I received with the bow (60" 45#) 2 strings, one in D50 and one in FF.... all two declared used by the seller who at my specific question replay that he used the FF string with the Stalker.... Yesterday I take a look at the FF string and I'm not sure it's fit well to the bow.... I strung the bow with this string and found that it's too long ... the brace height stay at 6" with the string full twisted.... I strung with it my Wes Wallace 62" and now it fit well with a regular Brace Height of 7 3/4"....
I'm fished by the seller, Robert A. Schultze - MA, very very well.... Greetings Rob .... good catch ...
Thanks for your "patient".

Carlo,
I'm sorry about the confusion you've suffered through on the purchase of your Stalker. The Shooting Star is a bow that Charlie made before I took over the company. As Ryan relayed to you for me, none of Charlie's bows were built to shoot with a low stretch string. I do know that many of the guys that shoot his bow, do shoot them with a Fast Flite string. When I bought the company, I made some changes to his design, including reinforcing the tips so that they could shoot all of the low stretch strings. I renamed his Shooting Star to the Stealth. Calling the Shooting Star a Stealth is obviously not technically correct, because of the changes that I made to the bow--even though they look basically the same. FYI, I shot my Shooting Star with FF, though it wasn't with Charlie's blessing. In any case, welcome to the Stalker Family. Despite the rough start, I hope the bow brings you years of shooting pleasure.
South

Hi South... thank you very much.... I like the bow and I will use it with only Dacron strings to respect it....
Could you made a new pair of limbs for my Shooting Star without I send the riser ?? If yes... let me I sold a pair of my "old" bow so don't have "wife" problems to spend other cash.
In event I'll contact you via Email....
Thanks you for your welcome in the family...
Carlo

PS... I'm hurting vs Rob because he never shoot with FF as he told me (I bought the bow only for this possibility) because I don't think he shoot one 6" Brace Height bow ... isn't it.....
