Fletching glue
« on: June 13, 2012, 05:46:00 PM »
Quick question. My wood arrows fletchings are starting to peel from penetrating the yard. Can I use the same hot melt glue as I use for my points to secure them back in place?

Also, any good links to how to fletch feathers? I have some arrows that straight up just need new fletchings.

Thanks gang!!!

Your hot melt glue will not work. Your glue will depend on what finish your arrows have. Bohning will use Fletch Tite platinum. Most others will accept Duco. Super glue gel also works on most finishes if you are in a pinch. To fletch them yourself you will also need a fletching jig. Most archers use a Jo Jan mono it you will only be doing a few arrows.

X2 jigs may vary

I like fetching tape with a dob of glue on each end of the feather.  It is really quick and holds up pretty good.  Cheap enough to try and see if you like it.
