Traverse City MI 3-D ranges?
« on: June 17, 2012, 12:45:00 PM »
I'm going up to Traverse City this week and want to visit some 3D ranges.  Traverse City has a municipal course, has anyone shot it?  Are there other ranges within an hour or so of TC that I could visit?  Let me know.  Thanks
May your friends be as many as the promises you keep.

Bob,

Williamsburg (just east of Acme on T.C. east side) has a great range that's one mile north on Elk Lake Road. If you ask where Turtle Creek Casino is, it about 1/2 mile east of the casino and you'll turn north onto Elk Lake Road.  One mile down on the right you'll see a giant wooden arrow sticking out of the ground. The owners reside up on the hill from the little parking area, but just go past chain fence and you'll see a sign in area and a lock box.  Fee is $10 per round and it's on the honor system. 30 targets total and you won't be disappointed. If you pm me when you're availible, I might be able to go through the course with you.

I don't know about archery ranges but the best summer of my life was spent in and around Traverse City. I was 17 and went there for a volleyball tournament and stayed until 3 days before school started in the fall. I would sleep on the beach or in this old cemetery and then hang out all day around town and the beach. I almost didn't come back home. I love it up there.
