As much as I like hunting with my bows, looking at those prehistoric teeth, I would be tempted to shoot the thing in the head with my .33 Winchester before I hauled it in the boat!

Did someone shorten the upper limb on that bow 4-5 inches, or is it an optical illusion?

According to Ark. Fish and Game, gar meat is edible, but very boney, and the eggs are highly toxic to predators and humans. There are several species of gar and they can live 20 yrs.

I believe this was a female.
Found this on the internet:
"Alligator Gar Life Cycle - Grow slowly and take a long time to mature. Females mature at 11 years old and live up to 50 years. Males mature at age six and live to at least 26 years old."
