Wrong hand, made right
« on: June 23, 2012, 10:26:00 AM »
I recently purchased a Hill style longbow on here from a fellow Gang member, the bow is a Silver Hawk 66" 72 @ 28, great bow!, problem was it was left handed and im a righty! knowing that when i purchased, seems kind of silly, dont it? Not at all, after reviewing the pics, i realized that the riser had enough mass to cut a shelf on the opposite side. Not one to pass up a good buy, I bought the bow, cut a shelf on the opposite side, and then gave the old girl a complete face lift.
Well folks, heres the finished product!
With a little Hoosier Hillbilly engineering, some simple tools and a little patients, I now have a great shooting, wrong handed bow, made right with dual shelfs.   [/IMG]   [/IMG]   [/IMG]   [/IMG]   [/IMG]   "   [/IMG]

Excellent job Mormon! Thought the exact same thing except add fill in wood to the right side shelf to make sure it was real solid! Yours is even better! Very clean!

Awesome job!

Seeing projects like this on this site is giving me the confidence to attack a set of longbow limbs I have that are in need of a slight change.
