The waiting game
« on: June 27, 2012, 07:57:00 AM »
Put in order in yesterday with Dan Toelke for a Chinook with bow bolt, now the wait begins.  I'm very thankful that his wait time is so short, cause hunting season isn't far off!  As usual was an absolute pleasure to talk with, and even offered some pointers for my trip to his neck of the woods in Sept.

I hate "the wait"!

Good luck in the upcoming season with your new bow.

Bisch,
From previous posts I know you to be a wise man. But I have to disagree with hating the wait.  I have learned to embrace the anticipation, It gives me something to think about in the few idle moments during my day. What will my new bow be like?  How will it shoot?  Will it be the one? LOL  I have learned to do the same thing with an impending hunt. We go somewhere every three or four years and that last year before we leave is full of anticipation and excitement over what is to come.  I gotta say I LOVE THE WAIT!  Take care all, this truly is the best place on the net!
                         Respectfully, THE FUDD

So what specs did you get?  Wood combo? Give us the good stuff!

I picked up a 66" bow-bolt Whip from Dan a coupleweeks ago. LOVE it!

58" chinook with classic grip and bow bolt.  Will have black micarta riser.  Told him #51-52@28, and that I liked darker figured woods for the veneers.  He chuckled and said he had the perfect veneers,  but I better be careful cause if I set it down in the woods I'd lose it.  Never seen anything bad come out of his shop, I'd rather him use what catches his eye then force him into using something mediocre.  Dan had me take some measurements from the #46 one piece I got in the St. Jude auction and said the grips would be almost identical.  Should be a perfect pair!
