Applying snake skins..apply to bow Strung or unstrung?
« on: June 28, 2012, 11:29:00 AM »
Do you apply skins to a 1 pice recurve while strung or unstrung??? Thanks!  Original post: One day before long I am going to put skins on a bow.. After the process is done and the clear coats have dried, do I need to immediately string it up and shoot a few to "break in" the skins(if there is such a thing)  or give it a day or so before launching any?. Or does it matter either way?I am Putting them on a one piece recurve. Thanks, GBH

Once your finish is dry, can shoot the bow, but don't have to.  That's it.

Forgot to answer your first question.  Apply while the bow is unstrung.  Much easier to work with that way.  Good luck.
