TO SHARPEN, RAISE A BURR AND FLIP IT
« on: July 03, 2012, 07:20:00 PM »
Guys, ( and gals). It took me along time to learn this but one day after lots of help from Ron, Joey, etc, the light bulb went off. I f you are trying to sharpen a knife, broadhead, axe, sword, etc. singel or double bevel.  Weather you use a KME , file, abs wheel, or anything else to sharpen your stuff the most important thing to remember is this. Work one side until you have a burr on the other side.  I REPEAT, WORK ONE SIDE UNTILL YOU HAVE A BURR ON THE OTHER SIDE.  Then and only then should you mess with the other side. When the burr flips back to the first side then change back to that side. When the burr is gone, be very careful with the blade in question . DB

You're right. Isn't it nice when the light comes on? I had the same problem with high school algebra. Usually a light would flicker a bit but every once in a while one would actually light up the room.
