Question on Bear T/D
« on: July 07, 2012, 03:23:00 PM »
I have a couple 60" Bear Super Kodiaks and would like to add a Bear T/D to complement them and make it easier to travel with.

What combination of A/B riser and #1/#3 limbs would most closely duplicate the Super Kodiak 60" bows I currently own as far as riser length and limb length?

Looking at buying the new production models.

I would say the B riser and #1 limbs...

The sight window on the A risers are much shorter than the Super K's that I've owned...

The A-Riser and #3 limbs makes a smooth drawing fast 60" bow

CRS, I believe the Super K riser and B handle are just about the same.  I would opt for a B handle and #1 limbs also.  That should just about duplicate your Super K.

I agree the B riser and No. 1 limb is the closest match in riser and limb length. There's just something about a A riser though that makes it my favorite. And I have all three limb lengths, making 56, 58, and 60 inch lengths.

Yep, definately the B riser and #1 limbs for similarity to the super K.

by the way, I have a couple A and couple B risers in stock and limbs too.

thanks,bigjim

FWIW Fred's choice was B-1, but I agree, I like the A-3 better..
You won't go wrong with either.

I have all three, A-3, B-1 and SK.

If I were shooting in the dark and it was not for the grip, I couldn't tell them apart.

Appreciate all the response in clearing up my confusion.

I can see how an A3 combo could be an "improvement" but I shoot my Super K's so good I don't want to mess with anything.

Just looking at getting a T/D to match my other Super K's for traveling purposes.

You might want to check out the grips before any commitment. The grip on my 2011 diamond wood "A" riser is a lot larger than my 2012 Bubinga "B" riser.

If you go with the Magnesium TD's grips are interchangeable (low, medium and high wrist) and in general smaller than most wood riser grips. The medium  #2 will be most like your SK.

Thanks for the info on the grips, plan on getting the bubinga when funds allow.
