Use to work at a distribution center, I had to just look the other way when I walked by a trailer be loading by employees of any of the major carriers. They just launched the stuff into the trailers. Sometimes seemed like they were intentionally trying to see how rough they could be with the package.  I understand when a company is moving millions of packages a day things have to move fast and deadlines have to be met, but it is really crazy how poorly some of the stuff is handled.  Certainly some of the onus has to be on the shipper to properly protect and secure the contents in a sturdy container,  but the average person should not have to pack items to withstand a drop for an airplane or being run over by a semi.

In this case if they did decide to do a random search as suggested by UPS customer service, nothing in the world would have prevented this, since it would have been intentional.

What could possibly have prevented Ben Graham's riser on a one piece bow from being destroyed like it was. What would Ben have had to do differently to collect the insurance on an insured bow.

Customer Service means nothing these days. It is only about the bottom line. It is all about what is cheaper in the long run. Is the cost of fixing problems and lost customer service versus getting as many packages shipped as cheaply as we can to maximize profit. Maximizing profit today is everything.
