How do you hunt whitetail with your longbow?

I like any method, but spend most of the time in a treestand.  I really like the view from a treestand, being able to see the animals coming from a greater distance, etc.  For whitetails, a treestand is hard to beat, though the reality is, shot opportunity per hour of hunting,is about the same when I hunt from a ground blind, stalk, or hunt from a treestand.

Mostly from relatively low tree stands but about 1/3 of the time from a brush blind.

Depends on the spot and conditions. I  treestand hunt quite a bit  but i like to ground hunt also. Usually blow downs or  brushblind. I never liked pop ups for ground hunting.

I now hunt out of ground blinds built by materials mother nature provides. I used to hunt out of tree stands and liked it alot but I can't climb anymore.

I have hunted alot over the years out of trees for whitetails.  Maybe it just me, but I want to hunt less and less out of a tree.  The ground game gives you an ability to use natural cover and be more mobile, shot angle is better.  I will be hunting much more on the ground this coming season.

Sold my Logy climber last year. Killed a lot of deer from it, but as I get older, hanging 25 ft. up a tree standing on a shingle makes less sense. Sold it because if I still had it , would still be climbing. Really hated to let climbing go. Will be ground hunting this bow season. Thanks, Roy

ground vs tree, I prefer the tree I just love the field of view.

When time is a factor (running late) I sit on the ground.

If you choose the ground, practice, practice, especaially when your using a longbow, and blind of some sort either natural or store bought.

Sneaking threw the woods like a cat is my favorite, but will use whatever method works for the situation. Sometimes thats a tree, other times it's a ground blind.Different areas and elevations call for varying methods.

I have been thinking of a homemade blind like this I found on google. Set it up near a tree with 3-4 tall stakes with burlap or netting around. It would have an open top perfect longbow.

I wonder how light one could go with that material?  I'm thinking of going on a 5-6 day bivy hunt for whitetails, and would like to have something quick, easy, and light for a quickie ground blind.

My local whitetails won't let that blind slide, prob stay at least 50 yds and give you the evil eye before snortin and runnin merrily off!

Better off with natural materials here, if you can cut shrubbery on site. Some zip ties or better on a bivy hunt twist ties that are reuseable.

No matter the weapon, I let the terrain,food source,etc. dictate how i will set up. I like eating venison to much to limit myself anymore than i already have

Usually from a tree. BUt I did walk (not stalk) right up on a couple of yearling does, and a spike last season, within 10 yards... There they were and I wasn't much paying attention at the moment.  May do both this year.
