A few, more like 10-12 years ago, igot to deer camp the Friday before opening day of archery season. This deer lease was big and there were a number of people showing off their new fancy compounds, sights, arrows, etc at a 30 grad target. This particular year I had decided to sell off my compound and buy a new HHA Wesley Special. Unfortunately for me I had not had much time to practice/master a longbow before this day and quietly hung out in the background watching. I noticed they all sucked. After a couple beers watching (only
a couple) I decided to string my bow for one shot. I flung my one arrow, the bow flew out of my hand and landed on the ground, the arrow pinwheeled the target at 30 yards. Every one, 15-20 people just got quiet. Then they started asking me how I was able to do that. I promtly put the bow away. Point of this story I find many times my first shots are my very best. It's even better when you have a huge crowd shooting the lates and greatest compounds around you.
