What rest do I use.... I'm not sure.
My dad use to run an archery shop, and when I was a kid, he set everything up for me. He always used a plastic arrow rest, and I don't know what it's called. I have a bunch of them, from his old stock, and I'll probably never need to buy any more for the rest of my life. I got my recurve in 2006, and am still using the same rest I put on it back then, and there is no need to change it anytime soon. I have the same rest on my old early 80's compound (shooting fingers); I have not had to put a new one on it since 1991, and while I don't shoot it much anymore, I shot that bow exclusively for many years. On my longbow, I took a generic, thin black plastic arrow rest and trimmed it way down with a razor blade, then glued it on and put some shelf material over it.
