125gr screw-in..toughest?
« on: July 14, 2012, 06:57:00 PM »
I'll be shootin a 125gr screw in this fall. Which do you think is the toughest. Two or three blade doesn't matter to me, lookin for a tough brand.
Thanks

I saw a guy shoot thru a strap hinge on a barn door with 125 gr. Thunderhead. Unscrewed the head ,pulled the shaft out, replaced the blades and it was as good as new. That was out of a wheel bow. But still a pretty tough head!

Steelforce Phathead. They have .080 blade thickness and you can special order in titanium.
Here's an interesting video testing the Phathead...

Toughest, for what?  Shooting through a deer hardly requires a "tough" broadhead.

Choose one of the popular brands and have at it.

To plow thru heavy shoulder bone on Whitetails..to make it to the boiler room on big hogs and when there is a pass thru be able to resharpen and put it back in my quiver.

Lookin for somethin that wont bend and can use for years.

I like the muzzy 3 blade.  I shot through bone trees and yet to have a blade break.

VPA for sure. Fewer failure points and a great design for both the 2 and 3 blade models.
This stuff ain't no rocket surgery science!
