gday guys, what's the string length of your 62" bob lee takedown recurve with ff string and bows of less than 2 years old? they changed their limb design a couple of years ago and the older 58" i have is now the same length as their new 60" i'm looking for a bow 2" longer than my current 58" and was just after the string length of the new 62" bows so i can get an idea of the bow length.
thanks

Generally you would use a string 4" shorter than the AMO length on a recurve. You probably could use a string 3" shorter and twist it to the desired brace height. I'm no expert but it works well for my bows.

i have no confidence in AMO any more. i have a 2008 58"AMO lee then ordered 60"AMO limbs this year for it only to get limbs that are exactly the same length. same string braces them the same. they say they changed their design.
what i'm after is a bow 2" longer than my old 58" which has a string length of 56 1/2".

Lately, I've been ordering my custom flemish strings 3 inches shorter than AMO for my longbows and 3 1/2 inches shorter than AMO for my recurves. This formula has worked well for the last 6 or 7 bows I've bought strings for.

know what your saying but can't help.
probably need o contact Bob Lee again and ask exactly what string length their new design takes.
I've kind of give up on the old formulas. with all the different R/D designs each one is unique to string length.

I would think for a 62 inch bow you would want around a 58" to 59" string. It depends on your brace height. Most Flemish twist strings can be twisted or untwisted quite a bit to change the string length.

that would be great if you could get back to me with that info babs. would you mind measuring the string when it's on the bow with the brace somewhere between 7 1/2"-8"
mine too is a 19" riser so your length should be spot on for me.
cheers guys

my recurve string length is 58" and my longbow string length is 59" both bows are 62" and my brace heights are both 8" on the dot. If you need strings contact Lefties r-us they makes great strings for the bob lee's
