Anyone Finished a 7 Lakes Longbow Blank??
« on: July 21, 2012, 11:18:00 PM »
Hey all,

Been looking at one of the HILL STYLE 7 Lakes Longbow blanks.  They look pretty good and the prices aren't bad either.  I'm just not sure I could do it, I could very easily break a bowling ball.

I'd like to hear from those that have tried it or have owned one of these bows and your thoughts on them.  PICS are always welcomed.

Thanks for the time.

Nalajr

I just finished up a double shelf. It's about as easy as "making" a bow can be. Just a little filing and sanding and some finish. I got a fairly light weight blank in the action wood and black glass. Just shot it at the Longbow Safari. Fine shooting bow. Mine was the r/d

I have finished two so far and am waiting on a third. The first was a standard clear glass model. The second was one of Mike's double carbon bows. The third will be a a carbon backed bow.

They are lots of fun and the best way I know to get the exact grip and other details (tips and overlays) the way you want them. Here is a link to a thread on the first one I finished.

I forgot to mention Mike's custom service is excellent and one of the main reasons I'll keep buying blanks from him.

Tom.
