Myrtlewood Supplier
« on: July 23, 2012, 09:33:00 AM »
I'm looking to buy some nice figured Myrtlewood.

I have a few good suppliers for my other other high end and exotic woods but am having trouble finding anyone who carries maybe even specializes in high grade Myrtle.

Anyone out there that can help would be much appreciated!

Thanks

You might try Allen Boice at Liberty Bows. He is a Trad Gang sponser. Norm Johnson of Blacktail bows may also have some. Steve Savage @ Surewood Shafts has some nice stuff. You will probably have to pick up a little here and there as it is coveted by all of the above.

Check out this site, they were at the PBS banquet this spring, people that were there said they had some really nice Myrtle.

Contact idahocurt on here. He is a sponser. Check out some of the myrtle he had in this post.

Do not follow where the path may lead.  Go, instead, where there is no path and leave a trail.

I'll second 1/4 away on Idahocurt. He has had some tremendous/stupendous/spectacular myrtle in the past. Good luck with your search.

I spent a good bit of time talking wood with Irwin at the PBS Banquet in Portland earlier this year.  A small sample of what he has in stock.  I'm pretty sure if you are looking, Irwin can fill most any need.
