There is no magic; rather than thinking about 'how short' think about 'how long' and try a few, it is very personal!

I have a Shrew (54in.) and a Hoots (56in.) Love them both...I have no pinch at 28 1/2 in.

Another Kanati fan here. As a matter of fact I own 2. They are 56" and I'm a 26" draw.
