totally confused now

OK, I decieded to try aluminum arrows. I went to the 3 rivers catalog and found out that for my draw 25" and bow weight 56# I could shoot a 1916 arrow. So I got just one to try.
Specs: 27 1/2 long 125 grain tip. Total weight comes up just under 460 Grain total. Does this seem like it is way to low of a weight to shoot at my poundage? It does shoot like a dart bare shaft and fletched.

If that 56# is the bow's rating at 28" then you are right in the ball park.  If you are drawing 25" then your weight at full draw is around 47/48#, so you are right close to 10 grains per pound of draw weight.

The bow is rated 64# at 29 it was hand built for a guy and I bought it off him. I was told by the bowyer that at my draw it would be 56# at my draw of 25.

Your arrow weight at 460 and draw weight of 56# gives you an 8.2 grains per pound.  Most bowyers suggest a minimum of 8 gpp so you are in the range.  If the arrows are flying well, I wouldn't worry about it.

You should be getting pretty good speed with those specs. That's the same arrow I'm using at a 45# draw and they fly very good. Mine only weigh 453 grains however, and with four-fletch, so I don't know what the difference in weight would come from.

Just a guess but I would think the bows weight at your draw might be closer to 52 to 53 pounds instead of 56.

Since you say you only have one arrow you could get 2016's and bump the point weight up.  That would get you well over 500 grains if it really bothers you.
