35# arrow setup?

For those who shoot a 35# bow, what arrow setup do you use?
I have a SAGE T/D and my draw length is 29".
I'm shootin 2016's (what I have on had at the time) and after talking to several shops I been told 3 different sizes to use (all aluminum).
1916,2013,1816

Any suggestion or comments would be greatly appreciated!

I have a Kodiak dual shelf that's obviously not cut to center    
It's 38@28 and I'm drawing 29.5 or so. I like CE90's at 30.5 with a 75gr insert and 175 field point. You could probably juggle those numbers around depending on center cut, draw length.

Depending on the arrow length you need, and the type of bow,  Gold Tip lightnings, or Beeman Hunter Juniors should work well.

I'm not sure if those have any specific spine.

Otherwise .400's with heavier tips, or 500's with lighter tips.

Remember shorter arrows = stiffer

I shoot a 2013 out of my 34 pound recurve and my draw is 29.5 in. Went by the Easton chart selector.

I shoot 1716 out of my 35-40 pound bows. But I only pull 23" and they are cut at 26" with 200 grains up front.  1816 do well from my 45# bow. Just got some bamboo shafts to try. They seem to have a wide range.

I just got a PSE Razorback for my son-in-law for him to learn traditional shooting. He draws out to about 28/29. It's 35#.

Full length 1916s with 125gr tips fly wonderfully out of it.

He called last night and said he's shooting 50 yards with it and hitting a pie plate.

I taught him well I see

Just another option if you want to go with carbons and a lighter tip weight. I just finished tuning a set of Gold Tip 15/35s Full length with 125gr up front. Thats out of a 30#@28 and I'm pulling 29"

Depending on the bow, all my 30's shoot great with Grizzly Stick Sitka's, with anywhere between 85 and 150gr points in addition to the brass insert.
That makes for a nice heavy arrow that slices thru deer.
Usually all you hear is the "phffft" of the feathers if your arrow is selection is perfect and your max out the draw.

I have a Bob Lee recurve that is 35#. It is cut past center, which will make a difference, and I draw about 29 3/4". I am using 1916's cut to 30 3/4" with 145 gr. tips. This setup with 175 gr. tips would be close for you.( also depends on if your bow is cut past center) If you want to go with a shorter arrow, 30", Then the 1816's and a lighter tip may work better for you. Two or three shots with a bare shaft will show you where you need to be. The 2016's should show stiff even with a heavier tip.

I just found some old GT Traditionals 3555 that I had in the closet and thought I would try them. They had 250 grain tips and I was surprized how well they shot.
I would think that the tips should be around 125 so I'll try some of them next but they shot pretty good.
I also was wrong on my draw length as it's 29 1/2" and these GT's are 30 1/2.

I have a bunch of lower weight bows. The universal "go to" arrow is the Grizzlystik Sitka. Some you can shoot full length with 85gr head plus the brass insert, for other bows you may want to cut the arrow a bit.

If I were shooting a 35# bow, I would shoot whichever arrow allowed me to get to about 500 grains, and I would be using a 3:1 ratio 2 blade head.

The GT's I'm try are 300 Grain without tips so I'll try tomorrow, bareshafted, to see what grain tips work best.

Try a 200 grain head....I bet they fly great.
