Simmons Land Shark with Bleeder blades
« on: August 07, 2012, 10:14:00 AM »
I am tempted to try these heads, but have a buddy who told me the bleeders were not good.  He said they moved around on the ones he had and also made noise.  Not sure how long ago that was.

Is anybody out here using them?  Any feed back on the bleeder blades would be appreciated.
Most religions teach that you earn salvation by keeping rules. Jesus didn't teach that "good people" go to heaven. He taught that "forgiven people" go to heaven. And He invited everyone, no matter what their past, to come to Him and be forgiven.

I've used them with and without. I've never had a problem with them but I don't use them now just bc they really don't cut any better with them or wih out they cut the same. Hope you fine out your answer.

Cato, I have been using these heads for years without the bleeder blades. In my opinion they are the best fixed blade that was ever made. I killed 7 deer with one head. I finally retired it before I lost it. I have it in a case in my office! You dont need the bleeders. They leave a massive hole!

The problem lied in how they were attached.  You were supposed to bend the tip of the bleeder and insert and the bend would keep it in place.  Well, it worked, but I never liked it because the bleeders would never line up straight.  My brother shot the 160 grain for years with bleeders and he would super glue the bleeders in place, without bending them.  He had great luck and killed a pile of deer with them.  I never really fooled with the bleeders, but have had good enough results that they are the only broadhead that I've used for the last 20 years.  They now have locking bleeders for the 100 and 125 grain landsharks.  I shoot the 160 grain landsharks, the Interceptor and a Treeshark from time to time.  DON'T JUST BE TEMPTED TO TRY THEM, GET YOU SOME OF THEM!

Cato,
I have been killing stuff with them for years without the bleeders. Mostly shoot 160's and tigersharks killed 2 turkeys and 2 does with the treesharks. Don't worry with the bleeders you won't need them.LCH

I agree I think the bleeders on Simmons broadheads is just about overkill. The holes those things leave are devastating.

Get you one of these, it's the best way that I've found to sharpen a shark.
