My homemade crester,spinner,cutter
« on: August 07, 2012, 03:41:00 PM »
Hey all. I thought I would put up some pics of my 20 dollar crester-cutter-spinner I finished today.  I had the wood and aluminum in the shop and a 12v fan motor that came out of an old freezer. All I ended up buying was the small bearings and spacers. First pic is it folded up and ready to store.
Next is it set up for cresting arrows. I used surgical tubing to attach the arrow to the motor. and hinged the platform to the spinner base to make it more compact. This little 12v motor runs just right off of a small 6v battery.
Next pic it is set up to cut arrows. I used my Dremel tool on the fold out platform and attached it with spring steel rods that stick down into pre drilled holes. Just lay the dremel down and squeeze the rods together and clip them together at the top to hold it secure. Maybe 30 seconds to with from cresting to cutting. Next pic is it folded in and used to align points and broad heads. With it folded I put an old screw in feild point in a pre drilled hole in the bottom to give a reference point on the head.
Just thought I would share.    :bigsmyl:

Nice! But I don't understand the field point. I assume it's to keep broadhead aligned with the shaft due to the fit? I've only ever used screw in broadheads.

Yep its to give me a reference point when I spin the glued on broadhead....you can see if its got any misalignment.

I found the bearings at my local hardware store. Really they were the most expensive part. I think they are made for a router. They were about 15 bucks for four of them.
