Scott stands behind his products and promotes traditional bowhunting, no matter where the seat is made or shipped from.   :D  I put in my ticket at GLLI today!  :p

I was just asking where the chair was manufactured. It does matter to me for many reasons none of which I believe I should mention on here. I have contacted the company and I'm patiently waiting a response. Glad to here they are made in the U.S.A.

I know where it was made and when I got it I was amazed and if it was actually made in U.S.A. would you honestly pay $425.00 for it? Scott has put every thought in this design to bring a chair to meet our needs with quality, comfort and most important to keep it within a hunters budget....I can say this if where it was made will keep you from buying it then that's your decision and he doesn't need your money but honestly when I see a product advertised from a sponsor here the very first question I may ask on a post isn't "Where is it made"? I would be more concerned on how does it perform or how is the quality for the money spent...Made in America would be great and would help this country out and I also am a person that is a patriot but someone started international trading long ago and some things are well built and some not so well but if I bought an item and didn't like it I wouldn't bring it here to argue about but instead the company from which it was purchased...I think Scott may be away to a show but I know he will answer your question if you need to know what manufactering plant makes them or did you mean country? I used to work for a well known Manufactering plant right here in the U.S.A. and the company started letting hispanics work there and then a few people from other countrys came there as well...The company then moved across the borders and this company was a major tool company that used to be all American....I had 5 members of my family lose jobs there (right here in the U.S.A.) so my point is just cause it's made in the U.S.A doesn't mean the people making the product are....

I do believe you made your point right there. I work for a company that makes 70% Toyota parts and I sometimes wonder how many Japanese we put out of work. It truly is a global economy.

I have sat on one of these chairs at a show and they were very nice. Possibly one is in my future.

3Rivers,who are a sponsor here, also carry them.

Yep, and even 3Rivers labels Made in the USA products. Must be a reason for that? So, good seat, company owner supports trad archery, makes product overseas.  WOW, too much to think about.   :bigsmyl:

I sat in that chair as soon as it was assembled out of the box.  Pretty impressive work there Scott, and No, I was not the lucky winner.

Guys,

I'd love to tell you we make our chairs in the USA, but there not.

Wish we could, I've tried and tried and tried some more.. After starting four companies from scratch and swearing I would never build anything over seas... I had no choice after getting quotes from US manufactures. Plus the levels of volume they wanted, you have to be a Rockefeller to start the company.

As I've said over and over to my friends, if you can get 10,000 fellow archers to buy the chairs at $400 each, I'll make them here.

I just want to set the record straight and let the chips fall where they fall.

Scott,
Thank you for the information.  I apologize to for posting that error on here.  I should not have done so without checking more carefully.

This won't change my opinion of the chair - or your company.

I've been in communication with Scott recently about the new, improved Huntmore 360. This weekend I'll have a chance to see one up close and personal for the first time. Can't wait. Scott is a real gentleman who, from what I can tell, manufactures a great product. If it is nearly as good as my brothers on TG say it is, I will be surprized if I'm not using one come October.

Gentlemen,

Thanks for the kind words, that I don't deserve. You're making it darn hard to live up to this reputation...

Please remember, we failed pretty miserable the first couple of years while adjusting from selling to dealers to selling directly to customers. I had always worked with dealers with my other businesses. We had to complete change our business and service model. I now spend about half the day online and on the phone talking hunting with folks and hunting chairs, which is not all bad. With the support of so many in the Traditional Tribe, we would not have made it this far! The first prototypes were showing to many of the Gurus of Traditional Bowhunting at Compton's, I was looking for their feedback and blessing, T.J., Dale, G. Fred to mention just a few.

I'm a seriously flawed human that needs all the grace one can be given. And trust me the Good Lord still loves to humble me, not to mention my wonderful wife, my kids and good friends who remind me of that now and then. The older I'm getting less tolerant and more cranky. Like right now when my allergies kick in, or during summers like this last when the oppression from the heat does not let up, day after day... Lord, please 70s and sunshine, my jeans and flannel shirt, a cool walk in the woods with my dogs and my boys...

Or when folks who have never started a company from scratch, hired one employee or made a payroll, put the house, your 401K and the kids college accounts on the line, or because you make your product in China. SheltonCreeker, "publicly", sorry if I gave you such a hard time for your question, but like I said, when folks first question is "where is the chair made" I general know how things are going to go or know where they're coming from. Therefore when I can, or have the time, I try to educate folks how dam hard it is to start a company in this country any more. You just can't fix things if you think the Chinese are the problem! The main problem in this country's is out of control bloated overspending Gov't... Oops... now I got back up on my soap box, sorry...

Like most products, this chair business started out of a personal need for a better hunting chair, no, a great hunting chair, something like a Bass boat seat, for ground hunting with traditional gear, for us long bowman and Ghillie suit. It had to stand tall and rotate dead quietly and pack up...

About ten years ago, or more, Half of my Traditional Hunting Tribe, hunting buddies, started getting on the ground as a challenge, not to mention a rush. Half of that half have bad lower backs, therefore we came out with a chair not a stool, me included. and thank you Tom for pushing so darn hard for that backrest! There were days I wanted to kill you!

Anyway, before I get any more sentimental or senile, I'll be a much happier man once this container of chairs are sold out and the weather cools. When a fire at night feels good and there is a slight nip in the air. When I can grab my longbow and my chair, get lost in the woods and make more happy memories out there, until the freezer is full and more arrows need to be built, I will be happy out there!

Thanks everyone for your love and support! Our family could not have built this company and business with out it!

Scott,
I commend you for standing up and facing the Giants so to speak...You know how much I love your design and I appreciate all your thought that went into the develeopement with the help of your friends as well...I like your honesty and humbleness Scott and I can say if someone doesn't buy the Huntmore just cause of the issue of where it was made then it's that persons lost cause they aren't getting the full benefit of how long you can sit and hunt in these chairs and if they do buy one then they would defintly see these things are built to last with Good dependable long lasting materials...I'm so glad John Leck is still going to purchase one soon ...I Also went out lastnight and put mine together in my shop and sat in it and thought I spent lots of money over the years on Junk made right here in the U.S.A. by folks who cared less of the quality they put into some of the stuff I have but Not my Huntmore cause it has a Man that made a good quality 360 chair and makes sure it didn't leave an assembly line with a faulty piece of material in it...Thanks Scott for thinking of us...May God continue to bless you and your Huntmore bussiness...

Scott,
You owed me no apology. To any one who reads this me and Mr. Hoffman exchanged several private emails. To have him say sorry on this thread speaks volumes of this mans character and integrity. I appreciate and understand everything that has been exchanged between the two of us. I am glad that Mr. Hoffman is a sponser here. Thank you Sir for your dedication to traditional archery. and thank you for the public apology it was unnecessary but certainly appreciated. God bless you and yours.

Well there you have it. The best hunting seat available, at a price we can live with. Designed in and by Scott (USA), with input from many ground hunters(USA). Thanks Scott... the Huntmore seat will keep me in the woods more at 65 yrs and not ready to quit. I don't care if little green men ??????or women build them. AS long as your over see the production....

That's the trouble with most bowhunters...they want Cadillac quality and features at a Kia price.  I am no different!

It took me a   long time to take the plunge and buy a Huntmore 360.  I kick myself now everytime I sit all day in my Double Bull in comfort    :knothead: .

I calculated up how much I spent on Double Bull chairs along with other cheap stopgaps...it was way more than a HM360 and none gave me all day comfort.   Now I have given one to a friend and have two more because I know they will last me the rest of my life as well as my kids.

Next time I see Scott at a show I will need to pick up this little one and see if he needs a field tester for an ultralight CARBON FIBER model...just a thought    ;)

Steve O,

Thanks! LOL... There is a great custom bike shop in town, maybe I can order some carbon tubing from them, for you!

You guys keep pushing me and someday, some crazy idea will pop up. Keep the ideas coming!

Then again the cost would sky rocket, and if we lighten the chair to much it makes noise... Honestly there are days I'm amazed how well our chairs work! It is such a fine balance to get this thing right.

You might get away with carbon fiber tubing with a basic 360º stool... but then my lower back would kill me! and I would not get my wonderful naps in the wood but then I might kill more deer... Zzzzz

Scott,

Thanks for stepping in with a reasonable and humble response.  I've appreciated discussing this, and other, aspects of running a business in America these days with you over the past few years, and respect you and your perspective.

Well done, My Friend!
