SBD strings
« on: August 09, 2012, 09:21:00 PM »
I have to give a shout out to Pierre at SBD bowstrings.  I recently have been battling my new 58" Toelke Chinook trying to figure out the string length.  What really was throwing me was that my older one piece and newer bow bolt, both 58", took different length strings.  I have to admit I had though,  incorrectly,  thought that Pierre may have taken on to much work as his wait time has creeped up.  Well two days ago he must have somehow sensed my disappointment when I got a second string and it was still to short. He then contacted me...I know, unbelievable, wanting to know if the string was right.  We exchanged a couple of pm's and today he had the right string in my mailbox!  You'll I've been sweating it with the trip of a lifetime less then a month out!  It's like a giant weight has been lifted off my chest!  SBD has another faithful fan now!

And performance, my #46 chinook with SBD string shot the same arrow at exactly the same speed as my #51 with factory string.  So a string swap is a cheap easy #5!

They are awesome strings!  They are all I have shot for the last two years.  I don't think a guy could buy a better made string.  But, don't expect to get one quickly.  They are a 2 week wait so plan accordingly.   ~Steve

Pierre is a great guy, a real pleasure to deal with.  His strings are worth a little wait.  If you need one in a hurry, we also have an inventory in stock and ready to ship.

I had to buy a second one when I messed up lengths, but what ever wasnt his fault the bowyer gave me the wrong length.    Awsome that he hooked you up.

I'm very pleased with SBD strings, just ordered 2 more last week. They worked wonders on my Widows.

What are your thoughts on the 6 strand vs their 8 strand offering?

I haven't tried the 6.  Most of my bows are borderline on the weight so I've always gone 8.  Been so happy, never saw a reason to change.

I use 6-strand SBD strings on all of my bows, and have for quite a while now. Excellent quality and mind-boggling speed. Plus, Pierre and Jean Pierre are honest, salt-of-the-earth people to deal with. I see no need to go anywhere else for a string after my positive experiences with SBD.

SBD strings are the best and they are on all my bows. They are the most perfect strings I ever had and if you give Pierre the proper dimensions of your bow, they fit like a glove. In fact they fit so precise, I don't need a stringkeeper anymore when the bow is unstrung.
The last long, don't show any creep, are deadly quiet and will make your bow faster. How much faster? I found out that yoy can count 1 fps for every strand less. So If you move over from 16 to 6 strands, you will gain 10 fps in speed. This is a rule of thumb ofcourse, it also depends of the poundage and type of your bow.
Putting a SBD string on your bow is like shooting with a new bow. At least 5 lbs more, you don't have to pull.
And as for Pierre: he is the finest gentlemen you will ever meet and a real pleasure to do business with. Great strings, great people and great service, who could ask for more?
It don't mean a thing if it ain't got that string! [/i]
