HELP>>>> Broadhead tip tip (pics)
« on: August 13, 2012, 11:11:00 AM »
Hi gang,

A good friend of mine wanted to build a 2 blade single bevel broadhead. He likes home made stuff and he's pretty handy on it.

He offered me a broadhead prototype so I could try it. The thing is the head has no pointy tip and I think it must be one thing that a broadhead must have but I know nothing about this. Maybe I'm wrong!

Can someone give me your opinion how to do it? Is this done when cutting the steel sheet?

Here's some pictures:

Thanks for looking.

Diogo

Here ya go bud,

Looks about right to me, you want to sharpen that tip just a bit more but no you're not looking to make it into a needle point.

If you want it to have a more pointy tip just file a tanto tip on it.

Thanks for the resizing pics. Sorry about that.

James, is the tanto tip sharp on both sides? Or is it supose to keep the single bevel also on the tip?
