It begins in the morning!
« on: August 14, 2012, 09:58:00 PM »
Tomorrow morning is the opening for antelope here. I'm not big on antelope hunting, but I'm going to go out and see if I can spot and stalk one. I have seen a few decent bucks, so it will be fun to see if I can get anywhere near one of them for a shot. The weatherman predicts wind and much cooler for tomorrow; I'm all for cooler, but the wind might be a problem (gusts to 50 mph are predicted). Anyhow, it will be nice to be able to hunt after several months layoff. Wish me luck.

Good luck, Pat. I bypassed Buffalo a couple weeks ago, and there were lots of antelope to be seen from the highway. Hope you can close the gap to within bow range.

Pat....same for us, all around just north of you!   Cooler temps and lopes on the agenda...finally.  I'm going to try and get out myself...if for nothing else than to enjoy the cooler weather for a change.   Even the chance for rain sounds like a good forcast too!

Good luck to you, I think spot and stalk antelope hunting is exceptionally impressive (and worth every minute you spend doing it).
I didn't draw this year, so I guess I'll shoot my bag target for a few more weeks (unless I miss and hit the shed, which I call shed hunting).
