Its a bit harder for me. I have to hold lower once I get to a certain angle. Since I shoot fairly close, I have to shoot a lot from stands to make sure I'm with it.

I shoot better from an elevated position, but can't say why.

HI  I shoot a lot from our second story deck...so.. The muscles used to shoot down hill are very well toned... but I can shoot longer shots on the ground... go figure

I've always shot better from an elevated stand.

I shoot better from a tree stand.  My groups always get smaller.

Seems I shoot better elevated also. Most shots taken from a stand are calculated and purpose driven even in practice. Flinging backyard arrows with your buddies can get sloppy at times. Spending countless hours every year in a stand staring down at an elvated shot angle probably helps also.

I noticed today that I was shooting slightly left from my 2nd story window in the house.

Short drawing maybe? It seems I always tend to shoot left from a stand???

I wish I could shoot exclusively from elevated positions.

........I'd lose less arrows and it would look like I'm row cropping arrow shafts!

Seems I shoot better from elevation, maybe because I'm focused on the 3D deer target.  I will be practicing alot from the treestand starting next week as this is how I hunt 99% of the time (1% I accidentally surprise a deer while walking to or from the stand.)

My practice out of tree stands tends to be at the closer ranges that I would take a hunting shot.  My groups may shrink, but I seriously doubt that would hold at the ranges I practice from the ground.  The key is to keep your upper body orientation unchanged or you tend to shorten your draw length. Some recommend a normal horizontal draw and then bending at the waist,  but that requires alot of movement that may get you busted.  G. Fred bends one knee to get the correct angle and then tries to duplicate a normal draw.  This sounds reasonable but I think is harder than it looks.  I think shooting from a seated position minimizes movement, but I know I don't practice it enough.

I used to shoot on an indoor league, and I always said I was better from a tree stand...

(since the legalization of crossbows, the league dried up and ended...big benefit to archery there huh?)

I shoot way better from elevated position. I'm really not sure why but I'm gonna guess at it. Shooting on flat ground your grip arm is pretty much 90 degrees with your body straight out.  In elevated position your grip arm is not straight out which takes less muscle strength which gives you a steadier holding point which makes for improved accuracy. Jus my 2 cents
