I am shooting a trad tech titan 54# @ 30" with the side plate built out to center. i bare shaft tuned my easton legacy 2020 so that they were shooting very close to what i wanted with 125gr tips, however, when I fletch the shafts i find that the arrow flight is less consistant with 125gr tips as when i put on 175 gr tips. But the 175gr tips have a weak reaction when bare shaft tuning.    

any tips?

The feathers will stiffen up the shaft some when they are fletched.  Maybe some of the bareshaft gurus will chime in.

I believe what your are experiencing is bump steer the quill is hitting something somewhere. thw quill is hard and unforgiving. Try shooting cock feather in and see if that helps with the arrow flight. Also I have found out my Das at 60#s the 2020 with 145 grain heads gave me exactly what I wanted in flight. The broadheads and field tips were the same weight and flew like darts. Hope this helps Jacques

Maybe build the side-plate out further so it's not quite center and use the 175's up front?

How are you bare shaft tuning?

I started with the 175 tip at full length and cut 1/4" several times.  as i reached close to the shortest shaft length i could have (30 3/4")i started using 145 and 125 tips.  this was not group tuning but single bare shaft tuning at 15 and 20 yrds

Shoot a fletched arrow with the heavier tip on and see what happens...if you get a clean tear, worry not. Shoot the heavier tips and beeeee happy.

I agree with Jacques.  I would check the rest and strike plate for fletching contact.

I've had similiar issues from time to time, what is the fix if you turn the cock feather in and it starts shooting better?  Do you just switch to shooting cock feather in?

That is not unusual for bare shaft tuning. Many believe that a slightly weak showing on the bare shaft is best. Once the shaft is fletched the fletching has a tendency for most of us to stiffen the dynamic spine of the shaft. You sound like you are "on target" to me.

I always bareshaft slightly weak but make for sure that they group with my fletched shafts, no expert but works extremely well for me.Aluminum is just so consistant that is there's a problem I know it's me!!! Maybe that's why I like woodies
