Arrow between 5575/7595?
« on: August 17, 2012, 03:16:00 PM »
I've been a lo g time Gold Tip blem shooter but it looks like my 55lbs. Toelke Chinook with skinny string really needs an arrow between the Gold Tip trad offerings.  The 5576 will tune well with a 5575 but only at ~500 and the 7595 at ~700.  Any affordable shafts out there between these two that will come in 600ish?  I draw right at 28" and need an arrow at least 29" for broadhead clearance.

You dont want 600ish.

The 5595 is a .400 spine
The 7595 is a .300 spine
You need a .340 spine. Try the Nugent Blems from Jim the 7595, just like the Expedition Hunter 7595 is a .340 not a .300 like the Trad 7595

Dont know why they made it that complicated and didnt even go linear with their own shafts but thats how it is.

Again for mor clarity:

Trad 5575 = .400
Trad 7595 = .300
Nugent (or Expedition) 5575 = 0.400
Nugent (or Expedition) 7595 = 0.340
And sometimes our dreams they float like anchors in hopeless waters oh way down here
Sometimes it seems that all that matters most are all the things that you can't keep

I think he means weight not spine.

If so look at some Beeman Bowhunter 340 with heavy tips.

I did mean 600 as weight.  I've heard that about the gold tip 7595 having different stiffnesses.  Guess I need to get to the classified and trade the almost 3 dozen I have...lol.

Ever thinking about adding a weight tube to the 5575s?

I'm interested in this. Has anyone played around with weight tubes to see what effect they have on your arrows spine? For example does adding weight tubes make the arrow react like a stiffer spined arrow or just the opposite?

I've never been a big fan of weight tubes, but that is something I hadn't thought about.  I've had trouble with them popping the nocks out, but I suppose that good be fixed.

I talked to a guy at the shop yesterday and he weights his shafts down with rope, not weight tubes. He just finds rope, or cord about the same size as his shafts and cuts it to length like the arrow tubes. He said it served the save purpose, it was a new one to me

oh, and PSE Carbon Force 300's spine out at about .359 if that helps.
