Hoyt gamemaster
« on: August 19, 2012, 11:18:00 AM »
My son has a gamemaster 1 I think. There is a rubber membrane peeling off of it around the grip. Should I peel it all off and paint it or send it out to be dipped or leave it alone. Is this common? Any suggestions appreciated. Thanks, Greg

I had a GM I and the grip was wood. Nothing to peel off so not sure what you may be dealing with. Could you post a pic?

Maybe it is a GM 2. I'm not sure. The limbs are marked Hoyt G3 but I can only find them in an ILF limb. Not sure what we have here. Greg

Greg, if you are referring to the narrow strip on the front of the grip, I believe that may be a grip accessory-for insulation or comfort.  Hoyt G3 limbs were manufactured for the ILF type of bow/limb connection, however, many people bought ILF limbs and converted them to fit on the Gamemaster.  This was done by removing the dovetail fitting of the ILF limb, and then adding a bushing that would match the alignment pin on the Gamemaster bow.  Hope this helps.
