how many strand of FF Bow Plus do I use for a 54# longbow string? I like a fairly skinny sting but not anorexic.

Use at least 8 strands is my only advice.

I had a shrew that came with a,6 strand string. I just could not wrap my head around that skinny of,a,string..
I use heavier than needed but suggest 10 strands with themserving, area built up.

I started in haste with 10 before I got back to check the post. Made a nice string....that was too long. Been trying to fix it but figuring out that is a little harder than doing right the first time. Guess that is why guy get 20 bucks plus for good ones. Still fun.

Most ff strings have an individual strand breaking strength of 100# plus. I would say 6 strands as an absolute minimum. I prefer a fatter string and use a 16 strand string on all my bows. If you want a fairly skinny string but still thick enough to look like a bow string I would go with 12 strands.

Got it served. First time double serving. Next time I will not cut back an inch. Steal some yarn from the wife for silencers and I am in business. This will be my back up string for hunting.

I would say 8 I've tried a 4 and a 6 the four scared me after the first shot and the 6 just didn't seem enough. Just my opinion so take it with a grain of salt
