« on: August 24, 2012, 08:29:00 PM »
just bought a centaur the other day and its specs are 62" 54# @ 25.5. i draw 27 and am looking at options for arrows. I am shooting carbons now out of my recurve but thinking about shooting aluminum or wood out of the centaur. i have always shot carbons so am looking for a little help with the wood and aluminum. it is an all glass bow. thanks

My advice would be to try out a test kit. But, I am no expert on this as I just bought a new bow myself and need to start looking into arrows also.......starting with a test kit from one of the many sponsors of this wonderful website should get you going in the right direction though. Good luck and tight groups.

If you want to try woods, 65-70 spine would be a good starting place. As Gump said, a test kit would be a good idea.

It looks like you'll be pulling around 58# at your draw length so the 2018's might work but I'd bet a 2117 would work better. I'm shooting 30" 2018's with 125gr heads out of a 50# bow and they fly perfectly so they might be slightly underspined for your bow. LOL.
